You simply do not hear your own snoring. I thought my husband was just being silly until I shared a hotel room with a woman friend on a trip, and she told me my snoring kept her awake. That convinced me - I went to a sleep clinic and was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Now I use a CPAP machine, which stops the apnea and makes it impossible to snore.

Anyone who snores loudly needs to go to a sleep clinic for a diagnosis - sleep apnea can damage the heart and eventually kill the snorer.
