You know I don't know if science has researched this question or not. But being a dog owner all of my life, it certainely seems to me they can tell when there owner is pregant. And I have also found the more attention you pay to your pet during pregancy the more protective and loving they are towards the new addition to the family.

Hi, This is a rather interesting question, I'm no animal guru but my answer to this is. If this is happening to you or someone you know it is really quite common-believe it or not. Dogs are able to smell feel and hear better than we often give them credit for. Dogs are communal animals, who become a part of your pack and they often smell changes in a persons odder or chemical makeup. Look how tracking dogs work for example. They don't loose one scent among thousands. They are also able to smell Cancer cells, etc. So yes they often become loving when one changes. If so Congratulations.Love it back, OK

Yes; They sense the pregnancy hormones that your body gives off. I know it sounds gross, but some dogs get turned on by it. When I was pregnant, my sister-in-law's dog kept drooling all over my lap and trying to ride me.

My dogs definitely could tell each time I was pregnant. They were more protective and tended to watch over me more.

i've heard they can sense things like that too. i had one jump on me when i was about to start...i didn't even know i was gonna start, the next day i did.
i don't know it they get lovey though

ofcourse ,they can smell the baby in there.
but seriously dogs are masters at body language they pick up straight away that you move differently
like they know when you are sad for example

all animals can sense that you are pregnant...some get lovey some get aggrisive...it just depends on the animal.

they dont know that your "pregnant" but they can sense change in the air. dogs are extremely smart like that.

They sense something's about - they may become extra protective.
