Use a lighter color of dye than you want, where your hair is darker it will not go as light as the color on the box, it will be a shade darker. Or go to a beauty salon, that is what I had to do. My hair wouldn't take dye either.

it will be hard to obtain light color, since you already dye it, color doesn't lift color. If you want light brown you have to remove the old color. My suggestion is just use for now a cool
color to erase the orange tone.

go to a hair dresser, get them to dye your hair light brown, it might be a little expensive but it is worth it. OR go to shopper drug mart and ask someone to help you pick out the right colour for your hair.

Go to a hairdresser, they can do a better job. But go to a Salon, invest the money and after they did the right colour, you can color it yourself with color from the drug store.

I am sure that you are a beautiful person, but your hair color bothers you, and i understand.... soo... i would try going to a PROFESSIONAL salon and having them dye it... its worth the money... you DONT want to fry your hair. and by doing that yourself... you can. believe me. If you do wind up going to a professional salon, talk to your stylist about what you want. make sure that she/he understands you, and you understand him/her. communication is key for hair color. I hope this all works out for you! Have fun!

If you want to lighten it naturally, cover your (dry) hair in lemon juice and sit outside in the sun for 20 minutes. Then rinse out.

use one with orange highlights that way it will cancel out the orange in your hair and help your hair take to the brown better

You could always go to a stylist. If you see a good one I'm sure they could get it. It's tough though. If they mess up they should re dye it for you too. (no charge)
