I was wondering....If some1 who is anorexic see's themselves as fat....what do they see when they look at another anorexic person? do they think they are also fat or do they see what that person really looks like? And if they do then why can't they see that they look the same?

What exactly I want to know is- if they see some1 so skinny their bones are showing and who is very bad off- do they recognize this person as sick or too thin? or do they see them as they see themselves?

i am no longer anorexic...however, i remember some of my thoughts then...and can explain some w/ the help of my doctors, therapists, etc...
first off...i had started off, starving myself, thinking i was fat, and then, when i got down to the weight i wanted i couldnt eat...starving myself was like an addiction....
but then, i never thought per se i was fat, just...not skinny as displayed by society and such....
when i saw another anorexic person, i was told she was anorexic, and took a good look at her....she was the same size of me....
two days after seeing her, i saw she had died from dehydration and starvation....i didn't want to die...i wanted to be thin....so i went to the doctor for a diet pill....then was hospitalized...and now i'm weighing about 100 pounds again...and looking good :)

I use to be some what anorexic, but I didn't starve myself to lose weight. I had developed a fear of becoming fat after I lost the weight, because I was so happy I had accomplished something I have wanted my whole life. And when I started to fear food, that is when I was starving myself even though I didn't realize it. Luckily, now I have learned to love my body and have established good eating habits.
People who are anorexic usually don't care what others look like because they are so worried about their own body. They also only see their self as fat and not others, even if the other person is the same size.

If you go to 43things.com you can find a few threads which are composed mostly of anorexics and bulemics.
I'm not, but from what I gather, there's almost a competition to see who can be the most Barbie like. People don't really "see" their selves objectively. Reducing has become an obsession.
If you are, I hope you get treatment.

i havent been anorexic but i did drop weight and have/had the worst self image. You dont really look at people and judge them ur worried about u. so u just see the parts of other people that u think are thin and u focus on those

I know a friend who is anorexic, she sees herself fat mean while she is thin, but sees me thin, I am much bigger than she is, she thinks she is bigger than I am. I have no idea why, its all in her head. People like that needs to see a doctor and get some help.

phat is in. fat ( pretty hot and tempting) Winter is here time to snuggle. With the cost of gas prices fluctuating . women need to be proud of thickness . Be happy to be thick . Keep your man warm this winter and keep the thermastat down. Anorexic is a summer sport for bikinies not a winter sport. (smile)
