Does he know is body parts? My little nephew was 2 in August and has known his parts (I don't think he knows girl or boys parts tho) for about 6 months or so.
It doesn't sound like much, but it's something that a lot of other kids his age might not know.
Does he talk good? I have a few cousins that are 2 and they're vocabulary isn't the best. Talk with him and read lots of books to him.

There is just so much for him to learn!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn't know where to begin. It doesn't have to be educational! I'm sure he likes to watch you wash clothes or see the clothes spin. He can hand you what you need to put in the laundry. And as you do you count, or have some music on and dance! Or if you need to do some yard work, teach him the colors of the outdoors! Or explore bugs!!! he'll love that! Help him stir, but teach him that he has to be a big boy and be carful because it's hot, and not to go in the kitchen by himself. Have him help you put groceries or dishes away. You can teach him textures, shapes. Help him dress himself. Buy some foam letters, the ones that look like a puzzle for the floor! And then say the ABC's! Let him explore bubbles! Buy some baby DVD's. If he is watching Dora, watch it with him and encourage for him to interact. And have him point out colors and characters when he's ready! Potty train him!!!!
GOOD LUCK
Here's a link if you really want him to learn. A preschool specifically for age 2!!

Other things you could teach your children that will help them in school and life generally - to have fun, to love, to laugh, to respect others, to be tolerant, sensitive, kind. To only treat others the way you would expect to be treated. All the academic stuff is just that - academic. The most important things you can teach your children at this stage are the social and emotional aspects of life. You don't mention going out with your kids to the park and kicking the leaves around during autumn, playing in the snow in winter, watching the flowers bloom in the spring, or splashing around in a paddling pool in the summer. Watching the birds in the garden, talking about the changing seasons ... all these things are SO important -what greater miracle than nature will stimulate their brains? Get this bit right and the academic side will be easy because your kids will have a wealth of experience to draw on.

I have worked in the school system for 22 years now. Honey, I can tell you that the best thing for your child is to help them learn to develop a love for reading. When my daughter was growing up reading was as much a part of our daily lives as eating. Also I made a game out of anything I wanted her to learn. I would for example cut out shapes and I'd tell her if she knew them she got the shape if not I got it. She was so competitive that she would learn them just to beat me at the game. As the years went by I did the same thing with multiplication facts and etc. The secret is do not let them cheat. If they think you are letting them win the game won't mean anything. Your child has one asset already and that is caring parents.

Well you can teach him to read little books if he loves Go Deigo Go then get him books like that, have him point out the characters in the storys and where they are. Take him to day care. My mother did that with me. Have play dates and take him to the park. If you have a nice size back yard get a small slide spray it with the hose so its wet and let him slide down it. get him some nice toys. And a lot of book stores do little reading days where a bunch of little kids get together and one of the workers read to them and they talk about the storys. SO there are lots of stuff to do just choose.Good Luck!!!!!

Start with the alphabet and numbers. Like the stuff from Sesame Street. Each day work on a letter and a number. As he gets older, you can sit with him and teach him to spell, start out small, things like - the, and, me, by, buy, etc. Have fun with it and good luck.

Start reading to him it may seem like he's not interested but keep reading and show him the pictures. If he likes a certain type toy or fruit teach him to count using these items. Reading really helps kids grow.

If you are worried about the content of what they are watching switch them to Baby Einstine...
I have one of their dvd's and it is on Sign Language... My daughter is now 3 and can do signing. it is educational and fun..
We also do alot of baking in our house.. it kinda ties in with math with mesure ments.. coloring is a good start at hand eye cordnation with the keeping it in the lines.
I did forget to mention my daughter also likes dora and diego.. she did learn some spanish from watching it and uses it too..
Good Luck:)

I agree with some of the other answers, the basics. ABC's, 123's, colors, shapes, etc. But make it fun. With my oldest son we lived in an upstairs apartment and we made a game out of walking up the stairs and counting them. We would count each one, count by two's etc. Best of luck!
