...when "most" American citizens (Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, African, Indian, you name it) are against "ILLEGAL" immigration!!! It seems as though the nation is coming together as one, in order to fight for the rights of American citizens. This isn't just a white fight. This has nothing @ all to do with racism. Why is the race card always played on both sides. This is an American fight... & WE WILL WIN!!!

The race card is always good to play when your on the loosing side. When people talk about illegal immigration, they think Mexican, but it applies to ALL people here without a green card.
Americans need to stand up tall, and push for some form of resolution and make the politicans follow up and really fix the problem and not just provide lip service.

You don't have to be white to be an American, or a pro-American. One of the best things about America is that there are so many people who have different ideas, ancestry, religions, colors, etc. All they have to do is respect the law and get in line like everyone else. And once their here, they should have some respect for the U.S as a melting pot and have some loyalty to this country.

That is so true. You made a valid point here. Most Native Americans (and I don't mean border jumpers from Mexico but true indigenous people of the North American continent) are against illegal immigration as well. I am mixed and I am totally against it.

There are LEGAL immigrants that are against illegal immigration. Why? Well, it seems they think that everyone should respect a country enough to follow their laws. And they had to go and do things the legal way to get in, why should others get to "bypass" the system? How is that fair?
Poor isn't an excuse to break the law. Neither is not liking the laws. If you like it or not, it is the law, and one must follow them or risk the consequenses. End of story.

Your statement makes sense. Unfortunately many people, on both sides, do chose to MAKE it a race issue. I don't think you can ignore the racial tension underneath illegal immigration, even if you tried. If it wasn't a race issue in at least some part, there wouldn't be such a fuss about hearing Spanish in the community. People wouldn't be assuming that all Mexicans are illegal. (or that all illegals are Mexicans!)
Also, look at these posts and see how many people reference "Mexicans" instead of "Illegal Immigrants" in their title or question. Maybe you don't see it as racial, but many of the people in this debate do, and I believe it is a racial issue.
I don't see the nation coming "together" on this issue at all.
Americans, as with most issues, are split entirely down the middle. The Congress is now pro-immigration, as is our President.

Only pro illegals are using the race card. Americans don't care what your nationality is, we just want people to enter this country legally.

I agree, my neighbor is dominican and he hates illegal immigration. Most people just assume that if your latino you are automatically for it, NOT TRUE AT ALL. I've talked with many latinos about the issue and they are angry that our country is doing nothing about it. Its giving them a bad name too. People are more rascist against this groups because of the issue, its hurting them bad. I hate when people play the race card, a lot of people resent me because of this because I'm white and I should not have a say in it. Well I'm american and a legal american at that. I say we all stand together, all americans, white, black, red, brown, yellow, green, whatever. Stand up for your country, and your rights, and speak out when you have something to say!!

*claps* You are absolutely right. I don't care what race you are as long as you are legal. If you aren't legal, then I want you out of my country immediately after we strip you of all the money and things you have aquired while you were in my country. No more paying for your medical expenses, no more paying for your children's education, no more welfare for you, no more free food for you, no more under the table jobs for you, and no more housing for you. We Americans want our country back to ourselves. We allow others in, but only after they paid their dues and filled out the forms. Soon English will be the official language, and the illegals won't be able to survive here. I can't wait.

It's because of the reverse discrimination against whites, and yes this is a American fight. Not with any of the adjectives in front of American. But sadly the Alberto's of the world ruin it for the rest.
