If God, insisted everyone should not pray to another excpet for him, wouldn't that be considered egoistical. And if so, wouldn't that be considered one of the deadly sins. And would that make God Imperfect. Please don't tell me God is above that.

BUt if God was is jealous of, who is he going to be jealous of. Isn't that a sin, as well as vengefulness.
And how can he be Perfect if he has attributes that he said that we mortals cannot have. Its like a parent having dessert and saying to the children that they cannot.
Since the bible was written by people to instill fear of God, wouldn't they potray God as a wrath personality. What if God actually would'nt mind, since we still go to him in the end

I wouldn't get caught up worrying about whether or not god is egotistical. I'm egotistical, but if I created the universe, you'd never hear the end of it. Furthermore, it is possible to be perfect and egotistical. Trust me, I know first hand.

Your question is legitimate. Let me try to answer:
God is the only God, He is the creator, and He is glorious. It is our glory to be able to know Him.
God knows that outside of Him we have no life. He knows that it is in our best interest to know and glorify Him.
He also knows that to do otherwise would be destructive for us.
As for jealousy, I am jealous about my wife. It isn't that I don't trust her, I trust her completely. But I would definitely not be willing to share her affections with anyone. And frankly, I would feel very badly if I thought she was willing to share me with someone else. That kind of jealousy is not an imperfection. It is a right kind of jealousy.
Hope that helps a bit.

lol, Nice one. how ever, the commandments and sins are for mortals. They don't apply to God. God said that he was a jealous God. And warned us how vengeful he would be. Is it fair? Not sure, but it's just the way things are.

If your biological dad who claims you to be his son does'nt like you calling anyone else dad , would you consider that egoistic . So also The Father in Heaven who created you and the universe is right when He claims He is your God and would'nt like it if you call anyone else as God.

Okay bear with me on this one...

*We are supposed to have hearts centered on Christ.

*To have man-centered hearts would mean to have hearts centered on evil.

*If God did NOT insist that we pray to Him only, then He would not be focused on Himself, like you said He is.

*However, if He is not focused on Himself, then He is focused on man.

*If we are focused on a God who is centered on man, then we in turn are centered on man as well.

Got it?

In other words, because He is "egotistical" like you said, we can truly worship God and God alone. If He weren't, and was focused on us, then we would be worshipping ourselves instead of Him.

Now this brings up the question "does God love us if He is focused on Himself?" In the Bible, we are told that true joy comes from worshipping God alone. And in His love God wants us to have joy all the time. Therefore, God does love us by being egotistical, because when praying to Him alone, we recieve true joy.

Psalm 28:7 "The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

Isaiah 12:3 "With joy you will draw water
from the wells of salvation."

Mattew 13:44 ""The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.

John 15:11 "I(Jesus) have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete."

These are just a few examples of how worshipping God will give us joy. I know this was kinda long and confusing, but i hope that you are able to understand it!

i have no idea what you are talking about. any thing can be taken out of its context and made to look like something else.If you are interested in what God said then you should talk to a minster or priest or whatever!
The whole thing about what god insisted us to do is a made up thing a bunch of old people came up with,to obtain power over others!

The only answer that can be significant is that if there is only one
God, that God would not want you to waste your time following
some useless path, not from jealousy but love. I don't know any
other way to respond

God is worthy of being prayed to and being praised and being worshiped. He created you and everything in this world. The world should glorify God. Its not pride its just.

God is Holy and deserves our worship. He is a jealous God and won't share His glory with anything else.

you see, its not that God is egoistical
He is the Creator, therefore, no one is worthy of praise except him. All the things that you have, God provided them through a job or people.

His word states, " I am the Lord, thy God"
