Dumb i was putting john doe as a second driver. He took off for the weekend and came back with damages over 3k. John doe dissappear and i'm stuck with the bill!!! any advice out there, or do i have a chance to claim fraud with the credit company.. help,help!!!

You can try to turn it into your insurance, but if questioned, you will be backed into a corner. You stated you were putting him on as a second driver, did you or not?

Never, NEVER "rent" your vehicle out or rent one for someone! Even if you know the person.

Claim fraud with what company? Credit Card? If you rented the vehicle and did not put his name as a second driver and they have proof you rented, damage reports, pictures, etc, you are liable. Your insurance is not going to go after John Doe either. It was your responsibility.

As the primary renter, you're responsible--even if you can find the other guy
