I am about 3-4 weeks along and some guys at my work informed me that they got there girlfriend to end her pregancy with birth control. i was told that if you find out that your pregant, and if you didnt want to have the kid, and abortion is not a option then you can take birth control to end the pregancy, i know that they make the morning after pill for rape victums, but birth control, I jsut thought that it could hurt the baby not kill,

is this true?

And if so who would want to do that?

birth control will NOT end a pregnancy

the morning after pill is a high dose of birthcontrol that will prevent a fertalized egg from implanting if it has not already done so but will not cause an abortion if you are already pregnant

There is a way to take birth control pills like the morning after pill, but it is only effective withing 72 hours of conception before the baby implants itself on the walls of the uterus. If they are just continuing to take their birth control pills like normal than there is no effect to the baby in the early stages. I was so worried earlier this year when I thought I was pregnant while taking the pill. I asked my doctor if I should stop taking the pill till I knew for sure and she said it would have no effect on the baby this early. I wasn't pregnant after all (now I am though, almost 19 weeks along.)

Birth Control is a natural hormone that your body produces. It is taken and is used to make your body "Act" like it is pregnant. How would your body doing what it normally does, kill a baby?

I call false.

I know that it can harm the baby.

Birth control will not kill a baby. It is purely hormones which are produced naturally by your body when pregnant.

No, in fact, it can cause birth defects but is highly unlikely to kill a baby. The guy didn't know what he was talking about.

Nope your pregnant, unless you get and abortion, get to a doctor and take care of yourself. If you can't have an abortion, and decide not to keep baby, talk to your OBGYN about your options.

it all depends on how much is taken, and why would you ask such a horrible question?
