As tires wear down, the rubber obviously has to go somewhere. It is either being turned to dust or is being burned from heat. Either way can ALL that rubber residue be good for the environment. I mean there are A LOT of tires out there.

it goes in to the dust...dust has a lot of elements in it including rubber, iron, silicon, sodium and well a lot of them...

tiny pieces break off and collect along the sides of roads, when it rains some of it washes into drains, rivers and out to sea
