Fake phony I am keeping my eye on you friends because they secretly hope that their ex has a thing for them and because they want to make the other person miserable by moving on and dating someone way hotter then never speaking to them again.

On most occasions no..
its always easy to turn friendship into love, but when you're at the love stage already, it is SO hard to turn it back into friendship
Thats just from personal experiences and people I know's experiences..
I mean if both can let go and get over each other then maybe..
but the thing is how would u feel if u c ur ex with another person?! I'd think that'd hurt so bad..
and even if the two do stay friends, i doubt they can talk to each other about intimate stuff, especially revolving around the love area, since its just.. awkward
xD just my personal opinion

You can only become friends if you both have moved on. Otherwise, you can't become friends.

If you do want to become friends, at least give yourself at least half of the amount of time you were together. For instance, if you were together for 6 months, at least wait 3 months after you've broken up with no contact whatsoever before you try to be civil to each other. You can't immediately become friends after you break up.

Here are some good books to recover from a breakup:

Depends, sometimes it just becomes clear that it isn't love and you are better off friends. Sometimes it is love and it ends badly and with very unfriendly feelings.

But even when you do end as friends, sometimes you gotta let that friendship fade when she gets a new relationship. Exes as friends are not looked upon fondly by the new guy.

it depend most of the time of the reason or reasons for breaking up. If it was a disastrous breaking up... most of the time they wont become friends.... but if it an open communication and they understnad each other..... they most like would become friends...

it depends on the situation. If both of u didnt hurt each other or flirt , or cheat on each other then i do think its possible to be friends. But if you did do something wrong then its going to be hard to remain as friends. Doesnt mean you cant but it wont be the same as it was in the beginning.

It depends on the people. I have some ex-boyfriends who I am still friends with. On the other hand I have one ex-boyfriend who annoys the heck out of me. I can't believe I ever liked him even.
