My 2-year old son is doing the same thing. He has no fever, yet. With my son, 99% of the time he gets a high fever with an ear infection and none with teething. I am assuming we are getting our 2-year molars. He has also been chewing on things like he used to with teeth. A trip to the pedi never hurts!

Is your son eating hot or spicy foods sometimes they pull on ears when they eat such food because it itches the ears. Maybe he had a ear infection, have his ears checked. Yeah, it could possibly be molars or even nothing at all.

Does he have a fever? has he had a fever recently? It could be that he has a mild ear infection,or he could just be playing with his ears,My son will tug his ears when he is tired,my oldest though only did this when he had an infection.not to long after he stared tugging he would get a fever.I would suggest taking him in just to be sure.It never hurts to error on the side of caution.

Usually pulling at the ear indicates that there is something wrong. Maybe he placed something small in his ear and it is stuck, maybe an ear infection is developing, or a number of other possibilities. I would suggest taking him to your general practitioner or his pediatrician. If there is any major concern they will send you to an ENT (Ear Nose Throat doctor). Good luck!

Take him to the doctor. Something is wrong, somewhere. Only a doctor can tell you for sure what it is. Don't put it off. The problem can get worse. Catch it before it gets bad. Good Luck.
Have a great day!
