Took a 7 day cleaner for a weight loss competition and had a drug screen come back positive. Used to be a heavy smoker and was wondering if THC could be stored up for that long of a period. I know that wastes can be stored up in the body, but I was under the impression that THC would leave the system much sooner than that.

THC is stored in the body in fat cells, and how long it takes to completely be leached out of the body depends on how much was in there in the first place, and how long it's been since it was last stored. A 7 day cleaner works primarily on those things stored in water soluble form- and therefore wouldn't always be the best choice to rid yourself of THC traces. How long it would be detectable depends on the test which is done, and what the detectable level was. Some tests can detect it up to a year, in the case of a previously heavy smoker, whereas one joint would probably not be detectable after a month or so. So yes, in your case, I'd say it was likely it did truely detect old smoke.

It would highly doubt that is would show positive- now were you in the same room - but didn't smoke it??? or it could be a false positive- it does happen- I used to do drug screen for employers and DOT - D
