The things here on earth are only temporary, but the Kingdom of God is forever, if you live thru this live with out God you have nothing of the glory of God to look forward to as the soul lives forever. I would much rather know God than not to know Him for the aspects of eternity in hell are not pleasing thoughts.

God is a soul Jer.9:9;
God is a spirit John 4:24;

Adam and Eve were created souls.

All after the first created pair are born soul that die.

The salvation promised is a resurrection of the soul as was with Jesus Acts 2:31;

Your whole soul is you, God's spirit is life of every soul, God's spirit belongs to God and is a loan of life, we owe everything to God and should do all we can for God with our whole soul Matt.22:37-40 as Jesus did and as Jesus told us to do.

It doesn't profit the man anything. He may have what he needs\wants on earth, but that will all pass away. With out a soul he has no hope for the future.

I've considered this question that Jesus asked...can you IMAGINE selling your soul for something that will rust away and turn to dust? Just the thought of it is sobering....I just wish everyone understood how valuable their soul truly is!

Well...I believe He is saying ...if the hunger for money and the things money can buy are the thing that you are obsessed with...they become your God...God doesn't like to share that position.....sooooo....the fruit of that is, in the end, you won't be
sitting on the right side of God, sharing a joint reward with our Lord in Heaven....

i think that a person will gain temporary happiness as long as the person is alive, however for all eternity they will not gain anything because they will spend all eternity separated from God and that is not good!! i guess really a person can not be truly happy apart from God anyway!! so really there is never anything to be gained in a life that is apart from God!!!
