i want to enlarge a photo for our poster... how can i do it without seeing "boxes" in my picture?

use a 7 megapixel camera to take the initial picture.
Then get a photo editor to enlarge it.
With 7 megapixels you should still keep its clerity -- but then it depends on how big your poster is

First of all you have to get the highest possible resolution for the picture.

Then when you enlarge the picture, if you see the "boxes", use a program like Photoshop or many other image editors to apply a weak blur effect. This often does the job.

What format is it in on the computer, JPG TIFF, BMP, PNG, etc
If it is a JPG enlarging it will create much more distortion as it is in a compressed lossy format.
