Cuz your eyes will pop out!

No just kidding I would say its to protect your eyes. If you notice though other parts of your body tense up when you sneeze. I have also heard that your heart stops beating for a moment when you sneeze. Maybe it has something to do with getting a more powerful blow to get the stuff outta your nose?

I sneeze a lot because I have allergies. I have learned how to sneeze with my eyes slightly open because it happens a lot when I'm driving a car. It takes practice but you can do it..
