At your age it's not love, you haven't even gone out with him yet. I think that 16 is a reasonable age for a young lady to start dating, it will give you a chance to mature some and get better judgement about what is going on around you. Just wait

Whilst people will say you are too young to be in love, I think this is condescending, because it disparages the strength of what you are feeling. However what people are possibly trying to say is that although it feels like love now, they know from experience that the best is yet to come :) - so don't feel too bad, you have alot to look forward to :).

I am assuming your parents have made the rule on you not dating until you are 16? Would you be allowed instead to, say have a group of friends around (including said boy) for a movie night, board games/card games (not as lame as it sounds), playstation tournament, pizza whatever say maybe a group of 4 people? Also you folks can get to know the guy, so (so long as he's a good'un) they'll be more likely to let you guys do stuff together.

Talking to your parents is a good idea too, but I would be careful to emphasize that you respect their decision to not allow you to date until you are 16 (As in you respect the rule, not that you neccessarily agree with it). Maybe something like 'Mum there's this guy I like at school, could we have him round for dinner sometime, you know just as a friend?' Perhaps they'll get used to him and allow you more priviledges. (kinda same tactic as above, but more direct!)

Also you can invite him + his friends to join in activities with you + your friends, so you can enjoy spending time together without breaking your parents rules.

If he asks you out (yeay!) .... then explain that your parents won't permit you to date until you are 16, but that it's just a rain-check and to ask again when you are 16 (wink!) or you could suggest he speaks to your parents, like asks your dad's (or mum's) permission to take you out (something super-innocent like bowling in the daytime, with group of other couples - lol!). However depends if the guy likes you enough to do this, guys find girls parents pretty scary! You dad (or mum) may agree to this, but don't push them on just the two of you evening dates, 'cos they'll probably get all anxious about their baby daughter (that would be you!) and forbid you to speak to a boy for the next 10 yrs or something! -lol

You don't know what true love is because you are only 13! Take your time to grow up and forget about dating for now...You will have the opportunity when you are OLDER to date.
