I think moby has already givin you the best answer ......all those classics have glov boxes big enough to fit another passenger,so leave the original radio in dash for classic look and put the new hi fi system in the box....this is also a good theft prevention...out of sight ....out of mind. Thats what all the real classic buffs do!!

If you don't want to destroy the original dash, you might consider mounting it under the dash, that way you will only have 4 small screw holes to fill if you remove it later.

You want to have access to it? Yes? Seems like converting the interior of the glove compartment might work. Is there enough room?
