make a straight section across the top of the head.
section into 3 separate pieces.
cross the left piece over the middle one, and the same for the right.
Now, still holding the pieces in your hands, pick up another section from the sides from where you began using your thumbs. now you have extra hair combined with each section that you started with.
take those pieces and cross over the middle piece(left then right) just like you originally started.
repeat this pattern and make your way down the head adding pieces of hair from the sides as you move your way down.
*the smaller the peices that you pick up, the tighter looking the braid. using larger peices will make it look looser.
*this take time and skill. be patient, if you already know how to regular braid, than this may come easier for you.remember to add a section from each side as you go along.yes...sometimes it gets confusing, do not let the hair go, because it will fall out and you will have to start over, which you don't have to do. simply drop only one side, pick back up, and resume.

To learn the easy way, start out with 3 sections and put one on top of the other; repeat in an orderly fashion. The only difference between a simple braid and french braiding is that the french braids are done closer to the scalp with extra tightness. If you master the basic braiding technique, then french braiding will come easier for you. Keep trying 'til you get the results you want.

obviously you know to start at the top by forehead and do it very tightly which is probably going to be impossible for practicing so focus on that part later once you have had practice. Act like you are doing a normal braid but add another small section of hair to each of the three pieces right before you bring each one to the middle. so your entire head will end up in the braid remember you will have only three pieces at all times those three pieces just get thicker as you add more hair to them. Good Luck!

braiding is under no circumstances a nasty factor to do... placing that additional "polish" in your horse will handiest make you appear larger. However, it isn't essential at a education exhibit and do not assume "brownie elements" from the pass judgement on or any one else... It will make you stand out and frequently in a constructive method, however education suggests traditionally have exact regulations approximately judges no longer favoring horses with braids for the reason that they don't seem to be required. Also, braiding at regional suggests (after they can not rely towards you) is a well method to train for the "A" suggests (in which mediocre braids will make you stand out in a BAD method!). Hope This Helps!

ok, this may get confusing!
1. start by getting three small pieces at the top of the forehead.
2. start a braid but only turn each piece of hair once
3. when you get back to the first piece, get hair from the side to make the piece of hair larger and then turn.
4. do the same with every piece of hair until your finished!

take the top of your hair and start to braid. cross over 3 times. then before you cross over from one side, take some of your hair from that side that is not in your hands and add it to one of the strands. then crossover to braid. repeat this until all of your hair is done. Hope this helps. ask someone to show you. it's easier that way.

it takes time to practice and perfect the style... i suggest getting someone else to do it for you. If you want to learn how to do it, then get someone with fairly long hair to practice on. The instructions on the internet are pretty much what you'd find in any other hairstyling book.
Sooner or later, you'll get it =)
