Unless you are a pro athlete shedding water weight, rapid weight loss is a health concern. 13 pounds in one week is a lot, but it also depends on your current weight. If you are hefty, it may not be anything to you. If you are average in weight, make a Dr. appt.

First of all, you're growing... So let's work on maintaining your weight at a health level (not gaining or losing). If you try to gain or lose weight, you might miss out on a nutrient that you need as you grow. Second, you already have the abs, so you need to burn the fat. While basketball is a good aerobic exercise, you need a long and slow run to burn fat off... So take up running. Third, you're going to meet some other girl that you'll like, and then what? Fourth, whatever girl that won't be with you unless you bend over backwards and change is not worth the hassle. There will be plenty of women who will unconditionally love you (in more ways than one).

It depends on how overweight you are. A large man could lose 13 lbs via dehydration or changes in food choices.
People on the Kimkins diet often lose 5% of their total weight in the first week, but that would be due to low carb.
Is your scale accurate? Check with your doctor anyway. They can do a simple test for diabetes just to be sure.

More possibilities.
Depression or a tape worm.
besides that, it's normal for human bodies to have some big back and fourths on the scale. That's why most people that are trying to loose weight never weight themselfs more than once a week.
Other thing that can affect it are, what you are wearing of what you have eatten arounf the time of the wiegh.

Probably dehydration. No one can lose that much fat in 1 week, even if they were olympians. If you've been sick, esp. with vomiting and diarrhea, and haven't been able to hold down fluids, this could easily account for 13 pounds over a week. See your doctor! Severe dehydration should be taken seriously!

Intestinal parasites.
have you traveled abroad within the last few years? There are people who haven't traveled in 4 years or even more who discover they contracted parasites years earlier on vacation. By the time they realize they have parasites they are infested and things like you're speaking of happens.
Cancer could be another cause. Either way See a doctor immediately!

I dont know but I had a friend who lost a similar amount of weight in a week and she is perfectly healthy. It might be because you are stressed or something.

You have a tape worm.
******************
You lose weight right before the summer and gain it right before the winter. And you wouldn't natually lose 13 pounds in one week unless there is something wrong, like a tape worm.
Education is key, the person right under me should get one.

you could have a bacteria called Helicobactor pylori (H pylori) in your stomach. Causes chronic diarrhea, stomach pains . but i would see a doctor tell them any weird changes that you have had lately or the past few months.
