Moving there next year...Do they have concerts there or in surrounding areas? Any artists that Westerners would recognize?

You are moving to a country where movie theatres and clubs are outlawed, men and women not related by birth or marriage are fobidden from having any contact (inlcuding eating in a restaurant or riding in a car), and concerts, as you know them, are unheard of. Your only hope is to escape to neighboring countries - Bahrain, UAE, Egypt, etc.

If make my words make any importance to you... than please don’t move to Saudi Arabia, because your gonna get nothing than a good job from the oil rich country.... (That’s the only thing u will get) & let me tell you what you will loose:
1- Freedom of expression
2- Pubs, Disco, Girls, Concerts, & of course, Ur girl frd/wife or daughter won’t be allowed to drive nor 2 talk to anyone...
3- U will lose all the openness & enjoyment that u had in Ur country... every thing will be very private & restricted, +if u have children, they won’t be able to fit in (NO WAY!)
4- Instead wasting time in Saudi, why not come to Bahrain, where everything is westernized + they don’t impose any barriers on any nationalities... (Very friendly country)
5- Just think, you won’t even be able to practice Ur own religion in Saudi, They don’t have Churches, or temples.
Come 2 Bahrain, its got Culture, friendly people + Formula One & lots of concerts... u will love it here.
Believe me I have lived in many places in Gulf, been 16 yrs in Bahrain, & that’s why I can tell the difference!
+ the Bahraini Dinar = $2.65 (world's 3rd strongest currency)

You can head over to Bahrain. When MIchael Jackson gets home from England, you can maybe catch one of his gigs. I heard the English concert sucked though.

No concerts in Saudi, but if you are in the Eastern Region, its a hope skip and jump over to Bahrain, Michael Jackson of course was a favorite for a while there till he outlived his welcome... hahahaha!...

there are no concerts but you can find them in Bahrain
as for Saudi Arabia it has what is called "Jalsaat" Arab singers singing on "Oud" - which i can say is an Arabic guitar- and there are parties lots f them actually
