It's hard to ensure it, but you can take some preventative measures. Make sure your daughter understands how head lice are transferred, and that it's a bad idea to use someone else's comb or brush -- or to have head-to-head contact with other people.
Check her hair every day, and you can try this as a preventative:
"Shampoo the hair twice weekly with the addition of head louse repellent essential oils. Add 2 drops of Tea Tree, Geranium, Rosemary or Eucalyptus essential oils to a capful of PH balanced shampoo, and 2 drops to the final rinsing water."
I found it at this website, which also has excellent tips:

I can vouch for the gentleness of tea tree and rosemary essential oils. Just don't get them directly in the eyes! Diluted in shampoo should be no worse than getting shampoo in the eyes.
Good luck!

Shave her head, or keep her home!
If the school has an epidemic, presumably they are already taking measures...
When I was a lad, I don't think they let anyone graduate until they'd had at least one bout of headlice...

I used to be going to endorse the tea tree shampoo and conditioner too. Can i simply thanks for asking this question, as one of the vital different solutions have given me a few new strategies to take a look at, identification not ever heard of the vinegar notion! Most mom and dad do hold a assess on their kid's hair, as a mom of 3 daughters who love their lengthy hair, sure it's been a predicament MANY instances, however it's the small minority of mom and dad who do not hassle and so their little one comes again to tuition and good day presto the children get it in every single place once more. When i used to be little we used to have "Nitty Nora" a nurse come across the tuition each and every time period and assess everyones hair, any individual who had nits had a letter despatched residence to the mom and dad, and needed to be dealt with with a terrible smelling lotion for the entire household, unluckily at the present time its unlawful for humans to contact youngsters even to assess their hair, that is why it MUST be performed via the mom and dad. It does not take that lengthy does it!

Keep her away from dirty kids...don't share hats, clothes, any kind of hair accessories, or textiles of any kind. Wash her hair daily. Short of that you may or may not be able to keep her free of lice...lots of kids get it, its easy to get rid of...you just have to stay on top of it. ITs nothing to be ashamed of if she does get it. Its just a pain in the butt cuz you have to wash all her bedding, stuffed animals...all that.
