Can I pass through international air terminals with gold in my bag?

I realize it would be seen in scans, but would it be confinscated?

Most countries have rules about the amount of money or valuables that can be brought into their country. Check the import/export regulations for the countries in question and see what they say. A coin or two would probably not attract much attention, but large quantites and ingots could.
