I have installed a new mother, processor and HD in my HP and when attempting to intall the original O.S. (XP Home) it continues to tell me this O.S. is for intallation on HP computers only.

Is there away to force the install or a patch to force it? How might I go about installing the O.S. ?

YOU have discovered the problem with buying a pre-loaded system. If you change the hardware, your OS won't load.

They got a special price on the OS, BUT it HAS to be used on THEIR system. (SOMETIMES even a minor upgrade, an additional PCI board, etc., is enough to cause it to stop working. THEY wantyou to buy a NEW one, NOT upgrade the existing machine!!)

The ONLY solution is to either reinstall ALL the original parts; or buy, or download a new OS for your "upgraded" system, depending on the OS you decide to use.

You have a HP computer? It is not the orginal version im sorry to say it might be a revoery CD. A recovery CD is the CD which contains the Operating System and Softwear for HP only because the CD contains only HP drivers.

Which means it has only specific motherboard drivers, soundcard, videocard, etc... You need to go purchase a new OS. If you install new hardware it isn't HP anymore. Its customize
