So last night my crush and I were talking on the phone about R. Kelly and his little pervie stuff. We were laughing and all. Since he is like 8 years older than me, I made a joke that if he and I ever had sex, he would end up being a child molestor. This was definitely a joke, but turn out, he got extremely mad at me. He was like a TOTAL PISSED OFF. So like for the nest 15 minutes, he kept going about how rude and insensitive I was and on and on and on even though I had apologized and said to him that it was only a joke. Now I am pretty upset about it. Do you think I was being insensitive for real or was he too uptight?

He may have some feelings of insecurity going with a younger person, so that comment would have bummed him out big time. I don't think you were being insensitive or him being up tight, it sounded like it was said without any thought, but wrapped in the moment of chatting and laughing. Do you know what I mean? I sometimes say some dumb as stuff and then realise I said something that was offensive, but had no intention to.

The joke is not inappropriate, the fact that you have a crush on someone that is 8 years older than you is inappropriate since I'm going to guess your age is between 12-14. Try to find a boy your age. Any man who is talking to you is sick. What is wrong with kids these days.

Eight years can be significant when you're young. It wouldn't have made him SOOO mad if it didn't strike a chord of truth in him, y'know? Maybe he's had thoughts of the age difference and it freaks him out. Turnaround is fair play: tell him the age difference never freaked you out, you were only making a joke, and he took it so seriously that now you are conscious of the age difference and because he freaked, you're freaked. Which you are, kinda. Right? He reacted badly, and it spooked you. He's too uptight. But....are you at least 18??????

i think that anyone your crushing on who is 8 years older than you and would be considered a child molester if he had sex with you shouldnt even be close to someone youre crushing on. thats just wrong.
but anyways, he shouldnt have gotten mad. i mean especially since the joke was probably true anyways. he knows what hes doing, so why should he get mad? =P.

not the best the to say but you both have reason to feel the way you do but just understand you also have reason to be great friends...so much more to celebrate than just the one bad moment,don't hold onto that moment ...do something nice for and with each other but don't push the subject just move on and away from it...

he was definatley waaaay to uptight. maybe because hes older.
=). just joking. but anyway it was just a joke so he should'nt of got mad unless he was insecure or ashamed.

i DID relate to the subject, so it wasn't out of the blue,
but maybe he thought you were calling him old or something.
