Maybe any former/present prison guards can answer this one: I was checking the public prison record of my boyfriend, I saw that they list every infraction and contact with the inmate, such as fights and subsequently the punishment received, as well as movement/tranfers between other correctional facilities. On my boyfriends record he was charged with lewd acts while in prison and given a longer sentence, what do "lewd acts" equate to in prison?

Lewd acts in prison are normally exposing thierself to a staff member of the opposite sex, obsene sexual jestures toward any staff member.,
sex by yourself if caught by a staff member.

Normally sex with another inmate would be a different more seroious charge.

If he was actually charged with it, not merely written up, write ups can take away good time, but not give you more time, actual new convictions of criminal action can give you more time.

In prison, "Lewd acts" could be almost anything from an inmate deliberately ..uhm... pleasuring himself in view of an officer, particularly a female officer, or making sexual remarks or gestures to being accidentally exposed, as might happen if he's wearing only his boxers and something is "peeking" out that ought to be covered... I really depends on the mood of the officer writing him up.
Any act that involved actual, physical contact would be classed as an assualt or sexual misconduct, so a lewd act ticket is probably not as serious as it may sound.

I think it's pretty clear: ------------------ Privacy in communications.(1) Except as provided in69-6-104, a person commits the offense of violating privacy in communications if the person knowingly or purposely: (c) records or causes to be recorded a conversation by use of a hidden electronic or mechanical device that reproduces a human conversation without the knowledge of all parties to the conversation. This subsection (1)(c) does not apply to: (iii) persons given warning of the transcription or recording, and if one person provides the warning, either party may record; --------------------------------------... That clearly says that if you record the conversation secretly, it's a violation of the law. So, tell everyone involved that you are recording the conversation, and be done with it.
