Im kind of frightened because I did it last year and I LOVED how it looked, but now it's not light brown like last year and came out black, now my hair is dark brown and I dont know how it would look if i dyed it again black, and I have a fair complexion sort of like emmy rossum kind of pale, and I really want my hair black, should i do it?

if you really want to, yes. be sure you check the colors for cool, warm, or neutral undertones. if you have a cool complexion, use a cool or neutral black, and if you have a warm complexion, use a warm black.
and if it's a little darker than you want it, just shampoo it several times with a strong shampoo and it will lighten up pretty fast.
Good Luck

This can be a very sexy, mysteriouse look. Im guessing you had pale skin last year? Your hair is darker,it;ll get darker easier. I have dark brown hair w/natural red highlights,If i try to dye it light it turns red. Do it! If it turns out you dont like it,itll grow back or redye it dark brown. But remember,it wont look so bad you cant face the world. Youll still be you.

I have naturally almost black hair and I have had it anywhere from light brown almost blond to blue black. If you apply black dye to almost any color hair that is lighter than black...it will turn black. The only time I have every had a hair disaster was bleaching it or dying it a lighter color....never a darker color. If you are scared call the clairol color hotline before you color it or have a professional do it. But honestly I think it will turn out fine.

Well if you have really pale skin then i would say dont do it because really pale skin and black hair doesnt go.. it will make your skin look paler than it already is
but u said it was a fair pale if so then go for it

I think you should. I dyed mine black for a play, right before halloween and we couldn't find any non permanant dye so I dyed it permanantly black. I didn't like it at first but now I love it. I'm thinking about keeping it for a while. : )
And if you decide you don't like it you can always re-dye it or let it grow out.

Well if your hair is dark brown now, then I would go for it. It couldn't be that much different than what it is now. Hope it turns out okay.

i dyed my hair black for quite a while when i was younger. black covers any other color, so your hair will definitely be black, tho red highlites are kind of hard to cover. i had to use blue-black to get rid of them. it will make your complexion look even paler, so you will probably want to use makeup so you do not look sickly. go for it!

yes why not?! you might wanna prefer dying your hair with henna until it becomes permanent instead of using commercial hair colorings which have chemicals on it.
