The voters of Ohio have passed a smoke free law. It outlaws all smoking in public places, bars, restaurants, bingo parlors, in front of business. I know that some neighborhood diners and bars may try not to comply with the law. If i go to use it and there are people smoking who do I call. Police, Board of Health?

They have until December 7th to be compliant. I know the Ohio Department of Health is handling this law.

I think laws like that show how low our 'free society' has gone.
The Government has no business passing such laws.
It should be market based! If enough customers want to have smoking, or NOT, the business can decide for itself.

A group of rabid non-smokers, which is maybe 5% of the population, are telling everyone else what to do. WHY?
The CDC did a 10 year study of the effects of second hand smoke, and discovered it wasn't nearly as bad as they thought.
Because the study didn't fit their political agenda, they declared it invalid and refused to release it.
Instead they still spew results from clearly flawed studies to support their cause.

If they get away with banning smoking, what is next?
Alcohol? Snuff? Trans-Fat?

How about Granola? Diet/Lite Anything?

Leave the smokers alone, or you're going to be next!

You health nuts are going to feel awfully silly lying there, dieing of NOTHING!

that's a question of uncomplicated equity. The communal air it fairly is breathed through all consumers of a agency institution could modern-day an equivalent "taking area in field" to each and each and every body of those consumers. it is not equivalent if smoke has polluted it for the non-those who smoke and yet, those who smoke are waiting to respire non-polluted air without soreness. those who smoke can bypass outside or to their autos to smoke. no individual is attempting to tear the cigarettes out of their fingers. those who smoke nonetheless have a call even as the air interior an institution isn't polluted. Non-those who smoke would haven't any selection if the air replaced into polluted. i'm a smoker with a competent experience of honest play. i have also been in eating places the position i could not have a good time with my nutrients because of a few different person's cigarette smoke. i replaced into also a waitress for a lengthy time period in a eating position that had smoking and non-smoking sections (till all smoking replaced into banned). even as a smoker, i replaced into getting unwell from operating the smoking section for too lengthy at a time. the manager made it a rule that no worker could artwork the smoking section for longer than an hour at a time. Then they had to modify stations.
