Ok, so my Dad is in a really weird mood and tonight he told me i have a belly. And of course, I have always had a little bit of a tummy, but he threw a fit about it. As I was fixing ice-cream for dessert, he told me I shouldn't have any and that I SHOULD be doing sit-ups instead. I am 13 years old and I weigh 92 pounds. I have been dancing for 7 years and am not fat. Should I be offended? Or should I really be watching my weight and what I eat in general? Thanks!

I would hope that he was just having a bad day, and although totally unnacceptable behaviour, was just lashing out and didn't mean anything personal by his comments.

Otherwise, I would be quite concerned about his attitude towards you and your fitness. I mean you sound perfectly fit and healthy and very thin. If it continues, I think you need to speak to someone about it.

Please take no notice of his comments, it's more a case of him taking out his personal problems on you. There is nothing wrong with you or your weight, so please don't think there is. HTH : )

Dear girl, you are 13, puberty is naturally happening to you. Why it is but at that age a girl seems to develop a tummy. Not to worry for in time it will get back into syce. You are not over weight you are just 13. He should not have said anything because he doesn't get it. At 13 a kid has so many issues to deal with they do not need somebody making them self-conscious about their changing body's. That hurts. Your mom around, time to talk to her. She was a 13 yr old girl once too & very like you probably. Aunt or older sister make good ears too. Trust in yourself, You are doing just fine.

You're 13 years old and only 92 pounds? D: You should be very offended, don't try to lose weight.

Did you watch Dr. Phil today? There was a woman that is 47 years old and weighed 62 pounds...because her dad would ridicule her body when she was growing up. It sounds like you are at a healthy weight for your age...don't listen to him.

I would ask him why he said that to you, maybe he didn't meant it the way he said it and maybe he was being sarcastic because you are thin and meant it in a joking way. Instead of being offended clear the air. so I would not be offended until you clarify it and if you are not thin then maybe that was his way of saying you need to watch it. sometimes Fathers or men say things that hurt our feeling but really did not mean it too.

What's it to him? He has no business commenting about your body anyway.
