Will have a wild cat getting in my trash outside, and dragging it out everywhere, What can i do to stop this?

This is getting really aggravating, This cat tears open my bags of trash all the time, It's hard to pick up the bags without trash going everywhere. What can I do to stop this KITTY?

Your best bet is to borrow a live trap from your Animal Control people or your shelter. Bait it and trap the kitty, then take it to the shelter. Live traps don't hurt them.

You can buy a trash can with a snap handle on each side to hold on the lid. We got ours at Walmart for about $8.00. Obviously, the poor thing is hungry. It is also doing you a service by being in the neighborhood. Cats tend to keep rodents away. You might want to consider trying to leave a small bowl of dry food outside for the poor thing at nite. It doesn't have to be the most expensive stuff either. Any nutrition is better than nothing.

Put your trash bags inside a trash can with a lid. Especially any trash bags containing food. If the lid isn't enough to keep him out then tie the top on with bungee cords or you may be able to lay something heavy on top bricks or a cement block until the day of pickup. Be creative.
If you need only the bags out on the street for trash pickup day then put it out on that day and keep the bags inside or in the trashcans as mentioned above.

Call the SPCA and see about a humane live trap to catch kitty or just use a bungee cord or tie down to keep the garbage lid closed or put bricks on it.

Are you sure it's a cat ? Racoons are famous for doing that as well. There is only ONE thing you can do. Keep the lid TIGHT on your garbage. If you have to, use a bungee cord to keep the lid on. Simple fix.

get a tin of pepper and sprinkle it inside and on top of the lid... Hope this helps..

try putting something heavy on the can so the cat can't get in it, or spray somebleach on top and the smell should send em packing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
