It is more mean for you and him to continue with your doubts, be honest please, that is a gift to you and him , . do not waste anymore of eachothers lives..

Do whatever you think is right.

If Tom and you are not hitting the right note then tell him, don't use him as a door mat and dumping him now or later (whether it happens to be the date of the anniversary...who cares), your going to have to do anyway. Either way breaking up hurts, he will get over it and maybe learn a thing or two.

I think it would be sad if you have plans with him to celebrate and instead you break up with him but I also think it is lame to go through with the celebration. Tell it to him straight, say that you know what day it is but that you need to end the relationship right away and that you are sorry for the sadness you attached to this milestone. If you are nice about it, it won't be mean.

Did you know for a while that you wanted to break off the relationship? If so, you're a meaner person for leading him on into thinking that everything is fine between you two. To dump him on an anniversary is mean, but you need to let go of him instead of leading him on emotionally. Good luck to your boyfriend, he's going to need it.

No I don't think it's mean. I don't know too many guys who would know or recognise the fact that you've reached the 18 month mark. I'm a girl and I didn't even bother acknowledging it because I knew my boyfriend would see it as such a non-event.

Gee why did you wait so long? Ouch, but if you need to end it then do so, just be kind about it!
