Why is there so much anti-islamism and atheism in the US?

I have no idea, what US citizens learn in school about religion and other religions, but it seems, that many automatically see islam in general as enemy and well also the christian and jewish religion seem to be pretty unknown.

Many people seem to not know that Allah is just the arabic word for the english word God, and that this is the same God Christians and Jews believe in.

So when anyone says something versus Allah, this is not only an offense versus the muslims but also versus all christians and Jews.

This means there have to be large numbers of atheists in the US or extremely bad educated people. People who do not respect anything and anyone.

Why is it ? Are there drugs in your drinking water or is there an epidemia of mad cow disease, so that such behavior is the result ?

And when some say there is agression in the quran, have you ever read our christian bible or the jiddish Torah. Our books are full of violence.

If you believe in the christian or jewish religion, read jermia, isn´t this exactly destructive in the same way, this chapter deals only about the destruction of Israel, but this is not the Quran it´s the bible

and well these chapters also say clearly what has to happen everyone, and wouldn´t say that we have a forgiving God

This especially means all kind of people as you describe them as ingnorants.

Shouldn´t we therefore not be more afraid of radical christians instead of muslims ?Seriously there is also anti-semitsm strong growing, too, as well the number of atheists is rising.

But where is the ethic barrier, that shouldn´t be crossed ? I got the impression, that today there is a huge gap between every culture due a lack of good education.

In many nations you only learn things to fuction in order to become a willing worker, but education to know and understand the world is missing.

about 911

as you know the terrorists came from Germany, and the plan was poltted in Hamburg. Currently one survivor and planner of the attack gets punished in Germany.

While 911 it was decided to attack Afghanistan, bescause it was decided, that their government allows terrorists to stay and where not willing do deliver Osama Bin Laden.

Germany arrested the suspect alreday pretty early. Never the US forced Germany to deliver the planner of 911. He is now found guilty in court and gets 10 Years. Germany will not deliver the prisoner to the US or the US court.

Why hasen´t the US attacked Germany already for hiding terrorists and let them plotting 911?

Shouldn´t the Americans be more mad with the Germans than with the Islam?

I was listening to a history expert and he actually said that America is the richest country and the dumbest one. Yup, all in the same sentence. Doesn't surprise me at all. People here listen to CNN and other news media and assume it is truth. It's so sad. Even the BBC is more truthful (not by much).

Atheists are a minority in the US, America is second last in the world at accepting evolution (last is Turkey), over 80% of the US claim to be Christian..... and anti Islam would stem from that incident with the planes....and all religions are a weapon of mass destruction, look at history.

the lack of Atheist in America could possibly be why America is constantly at war, whether it be with it self or any other country they choose to invade.

I think there is one reason there is anti-Islam sentiment in the US and it is because there isn't an enormous outcry from what Americans would like to think is a majority of Muslims that do not think like terrorists. The lack of an outcry seems to reinforce the notion that most Muslims think alike and that way of thinking is just like the terrorists.

If Muslims wanted less backlash in this Country, they should speak out more against terrorism and make their peacful intentions widely known. They haven't done that so far, so Americans are still understandably suspicious of the religion.

I find it impossible to believe the Muslim and Christian serve the same God. Logically because, I personally know that Father God answers prayers. I know that sometimes, I have to persist for days but when I keep the faith, my prayers are answered. I know that Muslims pray 5 times a day and I know that they pray against Jews and Christians, if they were praying to my Father God, Israel would be just a memory and not making it in the Middle East. That allah is Father of Jesus Christ and God is illogical.

An atheist is NOT someone who respects nothing and no-one. I am an atheist. I love my family and friends more than anything. I do a lot of voluntary work and I care about so many different things. I have no problem with Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus or any other religion you care to mention.

What I do care about is people who preach at me, try to convert me, shove their religious beliefs down my throat and most importantly, accuse me of not having respect!

i completely agree w/ u 100%..the media, news, and everything out there is constantly portraying muslims as being these aggressive violent bad ppl who resort to terrorism at every chance posisble..for those who have read the koran and come to understand it they will realize that it is a religion that is completely misunderstood!! and i believe that wen it comes down it it we all have the same god no matter what you call Him. for those who want to be anit-islam then it is just for the sake of their own ignorance

Dudde, take your nose out of your Quran for a minute - Americans HATE atheists. We are less trusted than gays and muslims in this country, so I dont know where the F youre getting your information.

And, lets be honest with each other. I need to know nothing more than the fact that Islam preaches that the world will soon be ruled by Islam, and that those that do not beleive will be killed. I dont need to know any more about it to formulate the opinion that you are just as big hate mongers as other religions. If not moreso. Dont hide behind a "peaceful religion" slogan - you are violent towards unbeleivers. How would you like to know that unbeleivers would like you dead for your ideaology??

Many of them think they know what Islam is becasue Gerorge Bush told them or they heard about it on CNN. They need to learn from good Muslims and the Quran not from the media. the Christian fundies here are pretty aggressive.

they preach hate in church i experienced this first hand!
the preachers dont preach the bible any more, they go on stage and praise bush and condemn Saddam Hussein and stuff like that.

many churches if not ALL have had at least one sermon about Islam, which is full of Lies and misleading information.
the Evangelicals are fighting Islam with all means possible.
