Wine was important as it was their main, if not only, drinking source. Water in that area at that time was not safe to drink so they did not partake and they did not have the knowledge that we do today of boiling water to purify it. This was the same reason that the Ancient Egyptians were known for brewing beer. Even in the New Testament times, that was the case. Take the story of the wedding at Cana as an example. They had jars of water that most people today don't understand why they didn't drink. Then Jesus turned it into wine so that it was drinkable. The water wasn't safe. It had nothing to do with people back then being drunkards as many Christian denominations today say was the case so they choose that reason to prohibit it. If Jesus and his followers drank wine, why is it forbidden by so many Christians today and throughout history?

it was seen as a product that was a cumlation of mans work with what the Creator gave him. Same with bread. It requires a lot of effort to take grapes and turn them into wine. Unlike an apple that one simply eats.

the rationalization God talked via prophets is we were reduce off because of sin and replaced into the purely way lets communicate with God. we've Jesus now and all human beings can communicate with or be responded through God. We christians should be plugging others into Jesus on the thanks to flow one on one with our Father. Plus the former testomony took 1000's of years to practice so all that stuff did not ensue as commonly as you imagine. If the church preached the actual understand God he should be extra energetic now yet because of freewill and the money invovled the church basically tells you what you want to hearken to. If the congregation replaced into advised the actuality maximum ought to leave and the church should be broke. examine robert m at yahoo 360.

I think wine was the only thing they had back then. Grape juice didn't come around until recently. But now you've got me thinking, so I'll have to look it up.

Follow under the same principle as " sacred oils " or " incense ". It's a lesson in moderation. Use enough and properly, it can do good things. like sterilize wounds, clean the blood, and calm a angry soul. Use to much, and it expose something within yourself that you'd rather not show to the world.

The first thing humans did when they learned to domesticate plants was to make beer and wine.
And, it was a lot better for you than the crappy water.
