Or this that just for men?

I recently called someone named "Maria". Well apparently her daughter who lives with them has the same name. So when the man who answered the phone said which Maria, I just the older one.

Is there an appropriate term for this?

Yes, if they want to be called that.

Nancy Sinatra, Jr. is one example of someone who chose to use the title.

My mother and I share the same name. She passed away recently but when we lived together and some one would call asking for Irma, the common response would be,

Which one? The mother or the daughter?

I actually knew two women- mother and daughter- who had the same name. And yes, they did go by junior and senior. True, it is more common with men- but isn't restricted to them.

As long as they have identical names, excluding marriage names, it is up to them, and being called Sr. and Jr. is perfectly acceptable.

Not really. Any term which is not offensive enough is acceptable.
