I like my best friend’s older 19 yr old brother and I am 17. He talks to me a lot and is nice. My friend has said odd things like "He's only driving us, because YOUR'E here." & he seems to enjoy my company. However, He doesn't seem like a little horndog only looking to get laid. In fact, he is very secretive about girls in general. He didn't even tell any of his relatives who he asked to prom when he was in HS.
I know he likes girls, him and his brothers/ guy cousins talk about them, so I have heard form my best friend. And on one occasion her cousin suggested that I was "pretty hot huh?" & he decided to then say "Kate is 200lbs" even though, I am pretty obviously not. I am 5'8 135.
Anyways, I don’t know what to make of him. People keep telling me that most of the time the 19 yr old male's mind is filled with thoughts about sex.
He sometimes seems flirty, by smirking at me, or staring, or telling me "cool/impresive" stuff about him, but he doesn't seem that interested in sex

kate: Yes; most 19 year old guys have their minds in the "gutter" and more likely than not, this one does too! BUT ... he is nice to you because of (A) he likes you and respects you. (B) he has respect for your brother since he is your bro's friend. You're 17 years of age and he's 19. Calculate in the fact that girls are 2 years older in their maturity than guys are = 19 ( and he is 19) ... BINGO !!! Hint that you like him (he's got to have feed back from you). Then, go out with him ... if he's shy, you will have to initiate the "come on" to have him go out with you. Personally speaking; this is one of the benefits of not being "tied down" in a steady relationship, as when "Mr. Right" comes along - you are free and available to go out with him ! Nice to have choice ... isn't it? !!! The comment he made about you being "200lbs" was obviously made from the stand point of feeling "shy" and spontaneous. The sex part about him - don't touch nor play with the wrong "buttons" or you will find out just how much he wants sex (warning!) . When a guy (age doesnt matter, I am older and think about sex all day long) talks to a woman, the only thing on his mind is, "I wonder what she looks like naked", or HMMMM, I wonder if she is good in bed".
99% of men are like this, maybe he is in the 1% that doesnt or he is gay and covering it up.
Ask him out and see what happens, dont forget to bring protection. Be SAFE!

is it sooooo hard to believe that there are good / respectful people out there
but yes, he does think about sex , but is just being polite and not saying anythin
but mabye you would know a very different "friend" if you were one of the boys

He may not seem interested, but he sure is thinking about sex. All males do during their teens, because that is their prime, as for women we don't reach our primes until late twenties early thirties. Plus you cannot rule out hormones that are consantly coursing throughout everyone.

Some guys don't think about sex 24/7. He relises that he means a lot to you and he doesn't want to ruin anything bewteen you two. You are very luck to find a guy who, really care about you. why? cause he doesn't talk to you about sex or say anything sexual around you? he is not stupid, he is very clever. and you are falling right into it. he will wait till the time is right, then he will just go for it if you guys date or he may just talk about it after awhile when he is more comfortable. right now he is just feeling you out. and making his next move.
