I have a 2001 Dodge Stratus and recently bought a new radio and install kit. Without ever having seen one replaced, I was hoping someone had a similar experience and could share how to get my factory radio out without any damage (I don't want to go pulling on things I shouldn't). Any help?

The dash assembly will come apart so that you can take the old radio out. It is best to buy a Chilton or other manual as it wil give you tips in which order to remove parts of the dash and the types of fasteners used. Be prepaired for some cuts on your hands, etc. because those suckers are in a really tight space and hard to work with. As to wiring the new system just follow the instructions that come with the unit and read the wiring schematic that is in the book. It can be done with some time and effort.

I did this on a couple of cars and its easy to do. The install kit should have instructions with it. At least the install kit did with my Chevy. Any way I don't know what you dash looks like so I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction. But my advice is that you need to be careful cars today are build like crap so don't pull to hard on any thing. The radio housing is likely to just have metal clips in it. the plastic housing should just come off. If it doesn't than look for screws and try again. Also did you wire up an ad apter for the new radio because the new one is not going to just plug in to the existing wire harness.

Try a crowbar

Depends which car it is. Some are real easy to take out some are a right pain in the axx. If your rearly unsure your best bet is to go iton your local halfords and look through a haynes.

there are two clip one on each side, slip a hacksaw blade on each side of the radio you will feel the clip when the blade hit it ,push hard and the radio will then pull out
