No, but we know that we should forgive people because Jesus PBUH taught forgiveness!

For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Matthew 6:14-15)

This is also a teaching of islam... word by word.... We call this Huck in turkish....

It is a commandment. And it is in the Bible. Jesus is who talked about it the most, and it's found throughout the 4 Gospels. He said if we want to be forgiven we must forgive. If we don't forgive, then our Father in heaven won't forgive us.

Unforgiveness is poison that kills the soul by slow, painful, torturous death - and just generally makes a person a real drag to be around. The longer the person carries the unforgiveness, the harder they are to get along with because bitterness begins to take over and permeate every area of life.

It's not one of the 10 commandments, but Jesus said to forgive one another 70 X 7 times. And Matthew 6:15 (NIV) says: "But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." So, technically, it's not a commandment. But it is in the Bible.

Forgiveness is all in the New Testament and Matthew 18:21 it the best example. Peter asks Jesus if he should forgive 7 times, which is well above Mosaic teaching. Jesus says...well look it up at Biblegateway.com a great source
But, it is not "IN THE TEN" Exodus 20

It is not specifically one of the 10 Commandments, but it is a Biblical principle:

Mark 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

2Corinthians 2:10 To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also:

I hope these few scriptures will help

A commandment? Not quite. However a principle.

Most of what I was going to say has been said already. It all comes down to the principle of sowing and reaping.
Sow forgiveness, reap forgiveness. Sow unforgiveness reap unforgiveness.

There are only two commandments that we live by : Love God and Love others. If we 'love' others we will be willing to forgive them, without reservation or condition.

Guess what? God tells that we CAN'T love Him if we don't love others.

Let's start loving/forgiving (even the perpertrators of 7/11) others and let the beauty of Jesus be seen in us.

It is in the bible, in the middle of the Lords prayer it says "Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sinned against us." That states that the way He will forgive you is based on how you forgive others.

The bible also says if you don't forgive others there wrongs then neither will your Father in heaven forgive you.

Yes we must forgive.

Luke 6:37
[ Judging Others ] "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Jesus told Peter that he must forgive not just 7 times, but 7 times 70!

Godsaid it, I believe it, and that's that.

Biblical Forgiveness: Only Jesus is able to forgive our sins. Luke 5:17-20

Jesus said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me." In Matthew 28:18

Who gave Him the authority in heaven and on earth? GOD.

Only God can forgive sins. We can forgive those who sin against us but we cannot put away their sin. Only God.

God gave Jesus the authority to know everything.

God has given Jesus the authority to have comprehensive information. "he knows everything". 1 John 3:20

Jesus has also been given the authority to maintain continual observation. "sees everything". Job 28:24

God gave Jesus the authority to possess complete intuition. He alone knows "the hearts of all men". 1 Kings 8:39
