Pit Bulls aren't dangerous, their owners are. I have only met sweet pit bulls. A lot of pit bulls just fall into the hands of bad owners. The owners who get a pit bull specifically as a weapon. The ones who want to use them a dog fighters, or as a gaurd dog, or whatever. The breed really doesn't deserve its bad reputation, they just fall into the hands of the wrong people more than other breeds. Anyone who believes different needs to do research on the breed and learn its history of abuse and stereotyping. Pit Bulls are my favorite breed of dog, and they need more people who are going to treat them like tehy deserve to be treated.

My sister has a pit bull and she is the most cutes and loving dog that i have ever met, she's great, i think that most people get pit bulls for the look of meanies, and the trained them to attack people, but when things go wrong and the pit bull Attucks them, then they like like they were good owners. But that's not the case my sister dog is loving and she would never harm people or animals!

I grew up with a pitt who was rescued from a fighting situation. She was only 8 mos old when mom got the call fron Sally, who was a friend of mom's & worked at the local animal shelter. She had deep scars on her belly & one of her ears was almost chewed off. PEGGY as she was called had the most wonderful personality, considering what she had been through. Although she would never tolerate another dog on "her terf" she was great with people. She was about 8 when I brought a shepherd puppy home. I worried that she might hurt him, but instead, she crapped a big pile right in the middle of the kitchen floor to let us know she wasn't happy about this. Smart dog. They ended up being friends. We had to put Peggy to sleep at age 15 because her kidneys were failing. I'ts easy for you people to say all those negative things about pitts because you were never owned & loved by one.

American Staffordshire Terrier -- there's a gorgeous girl that lives down the street, always been very friendly. However, I walk my dogs on the OTHER side of the street because the "pitbull" does not appreciate other animals on her territory.
These dogs get a bad reputation because some people train them to be aggressive "junk yard" dogs. Also, they have a unique "locking" feature about their jowls in which if they have bitten something and you want them to release, it's nearly impossible to "force" them to let go. That's very scary.
Just too many horror stories about the breed because too many people are irresponsible pet owners. Unfortunately only dogs that eat people or kill children make it on the 5 o'clock news.

People say that "pit bulls" are dangerous because that's what they've been told, basically by the media. There's other reasons why there's so much hype also.....you should check out my blog on 360, i have a post about my pit bull, and what happened to her.

Well, any dog can be dangerous but Pits definitely get a bad wrap. I have a pit and she is the sweetest dog alive. She wakes me up every morning with tons of kisses and cuddles with me every night.
She loves just about everybody she meets and even broke the end of her tail open from wagging it so much!

Because, all people see is pit bulls fighting. My boyfriend and his mother has a house full of pit bulls. And let me tell you they are not mean. They are the sweetest pit bulls I have ever seen. Guys buy pit bulls to fight them that the only reason why they buy them. They don't care about pit bulls at all.

People tend to believe what they want to believe. The general populus tends to take the media as gospel.It's very scary.Most of the population is brainwashed by what the media says and these people fail to have a mind of their own.
I own 2 of this wonderful and noble breed. In the right hands and properly socialized they make wonderful family pets. In my lifetime i'll always have it one to two APBT in my life.

It is because the Pit Bull was bred to be an attack dog. I have met many Pit's that are friendly and lovable. it is just the way they are raised. They have just had a bad rap from day one. I think they are kinda cute in an ugly sort of way

i dont always beleive it people beleive pitbulls are dangerous because it is a "gang dog" many people gut pitbulls for dogfights(which is the worst thing in the world) people mistreat the dogs to get them mean so they will win and thats what people know most about them. My grandmother has the most wonderfull pitbull and she is the sweetest thing ever
