my husband would be the first to tell you I'm high maintenance, so how about a nice perfume, chanel coco mademoiselle smells great, and a great pair of earrings. I'm assuming you're not quite ready to give her a ring. but if you are, that would be great too!

Shopping sprees, lots of money, diamonds, and overall just expensive things. Maybe your girlfriends is different and would like something thoughtful over something expensive. Or also you plan a day with just the two of you and if she has other people she would like to share it with plan it on the day before her birthday so she can have the day after for everyone else. Tell her " i know you have other people you wanted to spend your birthday with as well so i planned something for us today. Make it really really romantic along with something that she likes to do or something that she really wants to do but cant. (you would still need to give her a gift if you do this)

The fact that you are calling her high maintenance is the reason why you can't find her what she wants, if you love her and you know her, you should know exactly what she wants.
But if you are looking for an easy way out, just give her all your attention for the day, she will see that you love her unconditionally and will feel loved and happy.
