i have been in this exact same situation! i girl told me she loved me and im not gay so she got depressed and suicidal!! my best advice i strongly advise you to take is ....... i know it is hard ... but you have to stop being his friend and lose contact so he can get over you and he can move on. other wise he might start getting obsessed and depressed like my friend did. its so hard and sad coz you lose a friend over it. but its for the best.

If your friend has 'gay' feelings towards you, it was really hard for him to mention this because of your possible rejection. So be considerate of what it costs him to ask. You don't have to return his passion, but you should be sensitive to him dealing with finding someone to relate to. You should support him and wish him well in finding a partner. Don't put him down, that'll create scars that will last a long time.

He may just be paying you a compliment, in his own way.
Because he knows you know, he feels that he can be honest.
Now it's your turn to be honest and tell him your not attracted to him.
Would you go to bed with a woman you were interested, just because she said she was attracted to you?

Nothing! Look it at it as a friend who made a confession to you. Yeah, it was kinda weird, but hopefully, you won't let it change your friendship. (Unless he starts trying to make a move on you, then do what you feel you have to.)
