Adjust your Volume control, Wave and SW Synth to the max.

If you still have no sound, open Volume Control from your tray, click Options, now choose another device drom your Mixer Device drop down lists. Try them all until you hear a sound.

Try plugging head phones into the port on the PC, if there is music the problem is with the speakers, and if they don't the speakers and their wires are not at fault.
Check all the voulme settings, not just the main one as one of these may be mute even though the main control is not.

I hope one of these things works.

Silly question - but do you have headphones plugged in? I did that once and couldn't work out why no sound came from the speakers... then noticed my 'phones were still plugged in! Doh! :-)
