I have a litter box in my room across from my bed. It seems that everytime im in there the cat heads into the box every 10 min. I've opened the box and cleaned it out and all thats in there are hard pellets. It also seems like he's peeing but only in small amounts. Then he digs for 5 min in his box. Could this be just constipation, or a UTI? Or, could it be just a dirty box? (though i've just put in new litter last week). I havn't changed the brand/type of litter, and he uses the crystals since he's an indoor cat. If it's just constipation, what should I give him to alleviate his tummy?

Have you or anyone you know ever had a bladder infection? It is very uncomfortable and makes you feel like you really have to go all the time. When you do, just a little comes out. Your cat is exhibiting symptoms of a bladder infection, and, as others have warned, this could be life threatening, not just an uncomfortable situation, for your cat. You should have been on your way to the vet ten minutes ago. Thanks for caring enough about your cat to ask, and please take him to the vet.

I recommend calling your vet. What you're describing could be any number of things. Just because your cat isn't going poo, doesn't mean he's constipated. He could have eaten something that's blocking his intestines.
If you can get a urine sample, take that in to your vet. They can run a couple tests and look at it under a microscope. If they find anything, they'll put your cat on some antibiotics for a couple weeks.

I would take him to the vet. It could be a UTI or Constipation. But your veterinarian will know, and give him medications to make him feel better. Good Luck with your kitty!

I think UTI because he's making a small amount of urine. Cat's should pee a flood once or twice a day. If he's trickling constantly, something is wrong.
Vet trip! He needs antibiotics.

Take him to the vet. He actually sound dehydrated (hard pellets and small amounts of urine). If he is dehydrated, he will not survive long without treatment.
In any case, a vet needs to see him to figure out what's wrong and treat it properly.

Your cat has a bladder infection. Frequent trips with no peeing is a sign he could possibly not be able to urinate it is a life threatening condition..You should take him to a vet ASAP..if its after hours go to an emergency clinic..if his bladder ruptures he's a gonner..
