My son got arrested for transporting a felony amout of pot, 2.75LBS to be exact. We are working on getting him a canibus club card so that he can legaly smoke and transport it. But other than that I see little defense for his case. Finding a lawyer who specializes in marijuana law would be optimal. Any good information would be appreciated since I am not privy in marijuana laws. This happened in Medicino County in California.

Defense for transporting pot is very hard to prove especially when the arrest was made on positive possession. Anyway, there is a mitigating circumstance for admission, minority or turning as state witness.

The card will do no good since the issue date will have been after his arrest date. Not much of a defense here

Wow Man,
Why don't you tell you son to stop transporting, most folks have nothing against smoking it, but dealing is trouible.
He should throw himself on the mercy of the court, and hope for the best.

You can't apply the cannabis card retroactively.

I agree, I see little defense. If it's his first offense, he may get off lightly. Get a good lawyer.

If you smoked one bowl of pot a day every day it would take you 6 years to smoke that much pot.
