I've had severe cystic acne since I was 15. I'm almost 23. I've seen dermatologists and they couldn't help. All they gave was medication that made my skin worse. Now what 15 year old is going to stick with something like that? Anyway, not long ago I found out that there is indeed some correlation between acne and consuming dairy. I stopped eating any dairy products and reduced my sugar intake and my skin began to clear up tremendously. I still got a couple of pimples here and there but nothing that wasn't gone within a couple of days. I didn't get the cysts anymore. The problem is that now I'm starting to get them again and I haven't changed my diet at all. It's gotten a lot colder recently and that's the only thing I can think of that's causing it. I've been using olay moisturizer for combination/oily skin with spf-15. It was working great up up to this point. Is there some other kind of moisturizer I should be using during winter? Can anyone help me?

well there is a product that you may have heard of. It's called Proactive. There's a moisturizer that you can buy separately from the kit and it works really well.
But unfortunately its not that cheap. It costs about $15-$20 for a little bottle.
It really depends on how much money you want to spend.
I personally love it! And definitely think its worth every penny.

I have had the same problem as you. I thought that maybe there was a problem with lactate, but I was wrong. You should try to see an Endocrinologist. (if you haven't). Maybe you are allergic to something. I found out that I have reactions to Legumes, which are found in beans. I never put that together until I talked to a friend of mine who is very knowledgeable in the medical field. The other thing that helped clear my skin up was Accutane, however, it has some potentially dangerous side affects, but had amazing effects on my skin. As far as mosturizers go, I know that Aquaphor always helped me. And using a mild soap like dove.
