Yesterday I had my wisdom teeth extracted, and today I've been just snoozing on the couch. Well..all day long, my puppy just sat on my belly and watched me sleep, every so often he'd come and nudge my arm until I moved it so he could curl up by my side. You could tell it was driving him crazy not being able to play all day, but he took really good care of me, lol, really he did. He'd come over and lick my face every so often then he'd rub his head against my cheek, then just crash out next to me..maybe he thinks he's a cat?? :)

I have a 15 week old Bichonpoo. She too is sweet. She gets up every morning about 6am. She likes to eat and play but seems to know that mom needs a bit more rest. After an hour of play and breakfast she comes on the bed with me and we take a nap for 2 or 3 hours. I know she would love to be playing or chasing the cat but she just sleeps. It is as though she is making amends for waking me at 6am. I have multiple sclerosis and tire easily requiring me to need to nap frequently and if I tell her "mommy needs a nap" she will gladly comply.

Dogs are exceptional, as are any pet that touches a person's life. I have 3 German Shorthair Pointers. The oldest is mine, the middle was my husband's and the third, our female, belongs to me and my daughter. When my husband passed away last year, Gunny (his dog) wandered around the house like a little lost soul looking for the one that he loved. My dog, Hans, stayed by his side, went with him everywhere and curled up right next to him so he wouldn't feel as lonely. It's strange, Molly did the same for me.
Now if I feel lonely, sad or overwhelmed all three check on me as if to say, "We're here mom if you need us. You're not alone."

I think pets are natural born healers. I have been "under the weather" for days now and he sits right next to me..he has to be able to feel me..If I say "I have a headache or I am sad"..he jumps up and kisses me. Dog's have this inane sense of protection and comfort. They loe you unconditionally and somehow always know when they need to go to work.

dogs can sense when their owners need them. when im sleeping on the couch with my dog, he doesn't move or bark or anything so not to wake me up, not even if he wants to go out. usually when he hears a tiny little thing he will bark like crazy and run around.

Your dog knows when you are feeling sad, sick, scared, lonely or afraid. He's taking care of you, just like you take care of him! This puppy is a keeper!

My female cocker & male king charles do that when I'm sick. I'm usually alone 10 hours per day. They know when Mom's sick & rarely leave my side. It's comforting to know I'm not all alone.
