Rubbish dont listen to that guy, of you do she will be wearing a pull up to her prom!!!
Get her an alarm and it worked for my son. Also make sure she does not have food or drink at least three hours before she goes to bed. Finally create a pee chart and reward after evry dry night with chores off for the day or going to the movies or for a swim at the weekend.
Absolutely do not stand for it during the day whatever else, spank her until she get up off her *** and uses the toilet like 90% of the population....now theres a percentage for you.

First, a pull up is a bad idea. Making her wetting easier on you is detrimental to her. Next, if you do not take her to the doctor for a physical, that is neglect. Peeing the bed at her age does happen, but it's not NORMAL. She may have a weak bladder or a small bladder or have been sexually abused..all kinds of possibilites.
Spoiling is not the problem. No 11 year old wants to wear a diaper. If she is wetting the bed, she needs to be seen by the doctor.

i'm 36 now, and i once was a child with this similar problem. i had no psychological problems, i just had weak bladder muscles. people can be so cruel sometimes and assume the child has some "spoiled" issues. coming from a child that suffered the same, please understand that it could be a medical problem for her. if you feel it will jeopardize with your 3 year olds potty training, offer your sister help in finding a specialist asap. dont "dog" your sister or your niece, but offer love and support. negativity is a big no-no in a situation like this, even if it is psychological, it will only cause a big gap between any kind of future relationship between your niece, sister, and yourself...good luck.....

She needs to be examined for physical abnormalities. If there is nothing wrong, then psychological counseling is in order. To wet the bed at 11 years old is a definite sign of something wrong.
Sometimes in a case of a child wetting the bed way beyond the normal time it should have stopped is a sign that the child has been or is being sexually molested.

There possibly could be something wrong with the girl's bladder, but also when I was 10 years old, I use to have wetting accidents in bed, I dreamed that I was in the bathroom going in the toilet. Maybe that's her problem. I eventually grew out of it. It sounds a little more serious though maybe psychological maybe or physical. Doctor might be your best bet. Good Luck!

I don't think this girl is spoiled, I think she may have some kind of emotional problem or something, it is not normal at all for a 10 year old to still wear pull ups. Usually this is a sign of some kind of emotional trauma and sexual abuse, I think your sister should take her daughter to a specialist that can help her.

I guess if the child is doing it out of 'laziness' that sounds like the child may need some kind of psychological help...that is not normal. If she can't help it, she probably needs to see a medical professional. Either way, that's very strange, and I don't think I could live with someone that way.

ok, i am 17 and i still wear a pull up at night. she is not lazy if she wets the bed. i know. i went to 5 diffrent doctors and none of them ever found any thing wrong with me, other than that my blader was a little bit small. but they could not do any thing about that, it has to grow on its own. i tryed pills, alarms, pads, and every other treetment that my parents could find. none of them worked. te last doctor said that i would out grow it like his son, who stoped before his 18th birthday. 1.5% of teens still wet the bed, it does not sound like a lot till you consider that 1% is between 2000-5000. so let her wear the pull-ups at night, they are a lot easier on her and you.
BUT wearing them on weekends during the day is lazy, dont let her do that.

I just got a prescription for my 7 year old. Its a bed wetting alarm. When it senses moisture it alarms, waking the kid. But it also wakes me up.
My daughter suffers from kidney and bladder issues and this has been a touchy subject though.

Perhaps there is a medical reason. Perhaps your niece (who by the way is not your responsibility to raise) has a stunted bladder? I think not knowing all the facts could make you quick to judge.
