i was supposed to watch my 5 month child. my friend came over to have a little drink. while i was in the bathroom my friend gave my baby some beer and now my baby looks very ill and vomits often. i dont want to call the hospital becasue i dont want to get in trouble with child services and the police. advice please!!

Well, your "friend" should not be allowed in your house again for such a stupid thing...even a little beer can overwhelm the baby's liver. Unfortunately, unless the baby is suffering extreme alcohol poisoning, there's not much you can do. The liver is the only organ that processes alcohol and it does so at a fixed rate--in an adult its about a 1 oz drink per hour. If the baby vomited that's probably good because the baby probably removed some of the alcohol from its stomach.
Watch the baby closely, and I suspect in a few hours the baby will be okay...if not, they you got no alternative but to seek help.... I wouldn't let the baby sleep and if you can feed it some water that may help a bit.

Drunk babies are bad.
Dead babies aren't funny. Get the little kid to the hospital: babies really don't have the bodymass or the metabolism to cope with lots of alcohol, so this could be life-threatening. Call paramedics or poison control. If it wasn't your fault you shouldn't get in trouble unless you don't do something and baby dies of alcohol poisoning.
And why is the friend that did this still a friend? If anyone I knew gave beer to babies, they wouldn't be friends with me for long.

You need to call 911 immediately. Your childs health is in risk. Have you ever heard of alcohol poisoning? Think of your child.

call 911 and get your baby to the hospital at once. the baby is the most important; sort all the rest out later.

dont be an idiot......I would rather have my child safe and alive than dead!!!!.....GO TO THE ER NOW!!!!! if child services are called which they probably will be explain to them what happened and let them decide from there......your "Friend" should be in jail
