Do you mean natural, or do you mean doesn't cost much? Frontline Plus - about $40.00 for a three month supply, applied according to directions will get rid of fleas and keep them from coming back. Fleas are part of the natural environment. If there was something in nature that would kill them, they wouldn't exist. Even where it gets so cold that it kills the living fleas, their eggs manage to survive until it gets warmer. You can try to do search and destroy missions and kill them individually, but for every flea on your cat, there are about 90 more in your carpet. Get the Frontline Plus - it's a whole lot easier.

There are organic flea shampoos.

But, my best solution has been to keep the cat inside at all times!

Pick them off one by one, but first make it so that escaping fleas cannot get into your pet's ears, eyes, nose, and private parts.

My mother in law swears if you put Yeast flakes on their food it gets rid of them. I don't think it works though.

I don't know about natural, but dousing in kerosene works. DON'T light a match anywhere near it though until it has been thoroughly shampooed. :D
