Golden Retrievers. We have 2 and the kids love them

Golden Retrievers and labs are the two best breeds for a family with children. Small breeds usually don't like kids at all. Two of my friends and I all have Maltese and they run away when they see kids.

Honestly, unless you want a very small dog (like a yorkie) or a very large dog (like a Bernese Mountain dog that sheds like mad but is never ever cross) then I suggest a lab. They LIVE to retrieve. Your kids can toss a ball and the dog will bring it back. What can be better than that? Personally I have a yorkie, a maltipoo and a BMD but my old lab was super for kids. If not for the size and shedding though, I'd say BMD

There are LOTS of dogs that can be Very good with kids. Labs and golden retrievers are both WONDERFUL with kids. Also, just mix breed dogs that you find at your local shelter, a lot of mix breed dogs are really good with kids too. Also, Labradoodles (lab/poodle) and Goldendoodles (golden retriever/poodle) are wonderful dogs, and Beautiful! You can go to dogvreedinfo.com and they have a link for the 'hybred' dogs. There are a TON of them. Good Luck in finding your new dog!!

The mix of the Affen/Brussel Griffon are excellent family pets. They're highly intelligent as their ancestors.Check both breeds out on the net and you will see the Affenpinscher and the Brussel Griffon are great pets to own.I've been raising this cross for many years and have had many purchasers that are well satisfied with this mix. They're identical to the Brussel Griffon breed.

Great Danes are fantastic with kids, as are (most) Golden Retreivers. I'm not sure those can be bred together, but if they can, that's a good choice.

Many shelters will be able to tell you how well a specific dog will get along with kids. Also, if you go to www.petfinder.com, they can tell you if a specific dog does NOT get along with kids, animals, or if it has a disease. Good luck!

Get a poodle. They're sweet to kids and make great lap dogs.

Well, get a purebreed if you want to know what you are getting....get a high priced mutt if you want to wonder. No one can know which qualities each puppy will take from each of the parents. IF a "breeder" of mutts tells you they can....RUN!
