You might mean two different things here. An agnostic does not know if God exists or not. An ignostic believes that the question of God's existence is not important and a waste of time.

Anyone that doesn't believe in God is an ignostic. I guess they think since they can't understand God, He doesn't exist. So, they believe they are not bound by His laws and hence, there aren't consequences for not believing in Him. An example of an ignostic is all unbelievers as they have made the conscious choice not to believe.

There are a number of well known agnostics. Betrand Russell, Charles Darwin, Thomas Huxley (who actually invented the term agnostic)

To be an agnostic means that you dont know if there is a diety and think there is no way to prove it either way. There is a great agnostic bumper sticker "I dont know and neither do you". That sums it up pretty well.

it is agnostic not ignostic,
ok then EVEN IF YOU USE IGNOSTIC, that term is still a form of agnosticism, it was a rabbi that started using it . there are a few variables but the meaning is pretty much the same.

"one who expresses ignorance of any knowledge of a god or gods due to finding theism incoherent" - Ignostic (wiki)

Someone who is not sure, weather or not they believe in any god(s) or godess(es) - Agnostic

If you mean agnostic, then there is a simple answer to your question.

An atheist is just as sure that there isn't a God, as a devoutly religious person is certain that there is a God.

Agnostics aren't convinced of either.

I'm not sure what an ignostic (sic) is.

Ignosticism is the view that the question of the existence of God is meaningless because it has no verifiable (or testable) consequences and should therefore be ignored
